Auburn Rotary "Partners for Work" Program Awards Grocery Outlet

Brian Mack, owner of the Auburn Grocery Outlet, was recognized for offering employment opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities.  Rotarians Trish Borden and Terry Davis presented him with an "Employer of Distinction" award at a Rotary luncheon.

Partners for Work (PFW) is a Rotary District 5030 project creating a chance for people with developmental disabilities to find work within a variety of occupations and industries.  Presently, through key networking and leadership roles, PFW has helped create 34 jobs in District 5030.  They are office assistants, warehouse/manufacturing stocking assistants, membership/service assistants and utility/janitorial assistants.

Every year the Auburn Rotary invites potential candidates for Partners For Work to a luncheon where they are given an opportunity to experience a mock interview and an introduction to the luncheon attendees.

The committee has partnered with King County and a non-profit organization, which has resulted in a partnership with WiSe (Washington Initiative for Supported Employment).  Debbie Moore from the Issaquah Rotary is the staff person from WiSe.
