Brian Mack, owner of the Auburn Grocery Outlet, was recognized for offering employment opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities. Rotarians Trish Borden and Terry Davis presented him with an "Employer of Distinction" award at a Rotary luncheon.
Partners for Work (PFW) is a Rotary District 5030 project creating a chance for people with developmental disabilities to find work within a variety of occupations and industries. Presently, through key networking and leadership roles, PFW has helped create 34 jobs in District 5030. They are office assistants, warehouse/manufacturing stocking assistants, membership/service assistants and utility/janitorial assistants.
Every year the Auburn Rotary invites potential candidates for Partners For Work to a luncheon where they are given an opportunity to experience a mock interview and an introduction to the luncheon attendees.

H.T. Hughes, D.C., Auburn Chiropractor, died Saturday evening, October 1, 2011, in peace, with his family surrounding him.
He was born in Riceville, Iowa, on July 21, 1921. He met his wife of 69 years, Phyllis (Peg) Muriel Woodworth Hughes,while attending Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa, prior to enlisting in the Army Air Corps, a few days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
After serving 4 years during the Second World War he entered Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Upon graduation the family moved to Auburn, WA, and opened Hughes Chiropractic Health Center March of 1948and continued his Chiropractic practice working until his death.
His love of the Chiropractic profession won him many honors throughout...

Despite the drizzly weather, 40 local disabled individuals gathered at Bill's Fishin' Hole in Orting to experience the excitement of catching a fish. With the assistance of Rotary and Auburn Parks staff volunteers, along with family members, fish were caught, cleaned and enjoyed along with some corn on the cob and juicy watermelon.

The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce presented Way Scarff and Scarff Ford - Isuzu with the Large Business of the Year award at their annual banquet and awards dinner.

The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce presented their quarterly "Excellence in Business" award to Way Scarff, president of Scarff Ford-Isuzu. He is a past president of both the Auburn Rotary Club and the Auburn Chamber of Commerce.

The Rotary Club of Auburn is celebrating its 6th anniversary in partnership with the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce in August.
